In December 2013, the City of Henderson Redevelopment Agency adopted an Owner Participation Agreement with Union Village LLC, which provided $80.2 million to reimburse a portion of the costs for this innovative medical mixed-use development that will include Henderson’s first Valley hospital, called Henderson Hospital, along with skilled nursing and long-term acute care facilities, medical office buildings, Las Vegas Athletic Club and other general commercial uses, housing and retail facilties anticipated to cost $1.6 billion. The project is expected to generate 17,000 jobs. Groundbreaking for this cradle-to-grave, fully interactive medical project located within the Eastside Redevelopment Area was held in October 2014.
Located on 38.5 acres within the Union Village project, this project, operated by Valley Health System, will house up to 214 acute care beds and is the anchor tenant for Union Village. Groundbreaking for the project occurred in October 2014, and construction on this $150 million project has begun, with steel frame completed in September 2015. The project is expected to be complete October 2015. The Redevelopment Agency provided $33 million in tax increment reimbursement for a portion of the costs of the project.
A 2,200-acre master planned community is under construction in the Eastside Redevelopment Area of Henderson. At build-out, Cadence will have 13,250 residences, 450 acres of parks, walking and bike trails, 70,000 square feet of office and 600,000 square feet of commercial space. Construction is well underway, with some parks, roads, and other infrastructure completed, along with the first commercial office building and the first homes. The Redevelopment Agency provided up to $209 million in infrastructure reimbursement through an Owner Participation Agreement.
